The Accommodation

Located in a remote rural area near the village of Malealea in the south-western corner of Lesotho, the lodge looks over breathtaking scenery, attracting visitors from all over the globe each year. Rustic, but charming rondavels are equipped with en-suite showers, comfortable beds, linen and traditional décor, allowing guests to experience the real Africa during the stay. The lodge offers Groupies breakfast and dinner each day, but also boasts self-catering facilities in the form of three communal kitchens. Take in spectacular views that the area has to offer and enjoy a quaint African haven in the heart of cultural Lesotho.
Location
Tucked away in a remote rural area of south-western Lesotho, the comfortable, family-run Lodge is the ideal place from which to explore the fantastic remote country. Specialising in pony trekking with treks ranging from one-hour to six days, the Malealea tailors each adventure to suit the experience and requirements of each individual guest. Trails traverse spectacular mountain passes and some of Lesotho’s highest waterfalls, affording guests a real African exploration experience. With opportunities to see San rock-paintings and experience Basotho culture by meeting local tribes, visitors to the tranquil area feel thoroughly fulfilled. There are many activities on offer in the nearby area, such as river rafting, abseiling or even a Sangoma meeting.
