Once upon a time, Rib went for a stroll through the Cape Quarter. He was fairly happy living the life of a bachelor, until a friend invited him for a drink at Aqua Restaurant. While chatting and having a good time, his eyes met the deep black beady eyes of a prawn across the room. Fireworks erupted and The Way You Look Tonight began playing over the speakers. It was love at first sight and many sights to follow. Experience the thrill and delight of beef and prawns together on the same plate for R99 at Aqua Restaurant, save at least R201.
If you’ve ever wanted to say the words ‘keep ‘em coming’ but never had the bucks to cover such a bold statement, this is your chance. Don’t get upset when the Aqua waiter only brings you 500g of ribs and 12 prawns. Guests are required to first show their mettle by clearing their plates before finally getting to utter those magical words. Prepared to perfection, these plates and plates and plates of succulent ribs and the ocean’s most juicy and flavourful prawns are guaranteed to make taste buds swoon and tummies sing Kumbaya.

Prawn fact: “Pretend Prawns” is a delicacy found on the menu at Sunny Day, a restaurant in the Sahara Desert. These prawns are made of a thick potato dough baked in little prawn moulds. To complete the ocean-feel, and also because of a lack of plates, the prawns are strung onto fishing line to create a prawn necklace.
