Like every butcher, baker and candlestick maker, there’s no way Daniela will let you in on the secret behind her much talked about macaroons. Whether it’s the crispness of the outer shell, the moist, chewy center or the rich ganache filling that makes them so divine, once you have one in your mouth, none of it matters. Beautifully wrapped in a little box, these colourful delights make a great gift to a really good friend who knows and understands exactly how big a sacrifice you’re making.
Daniela’s macaroons are high in demand so if your favourite flavor isn’t calling out to you off the shelf today, make sure to stop by again tomorrow. However, if you’re serious about holding out for that flavour, best rather phone to check because willpower doesn’t stand a chance when faced with a packet of these tasty babies. In fact, it’s a widely known fact that hardly any box ever makes it past the door without a broken seal and a macaroon disappearing into the bearer’s mouth.
Daniela Dotan and her bakers are as rich with enthusiasm and experience as the cakes, pastries and macaroons they create. Those ensnared by the taste of Daniela’s masterpieces will be pleased to know that Daniela’s caters for functions, birthdays and weddings. In fact after a box of macaroons, chances are you’ll look for any excuse to celebrate, even if it means pretending it’s your birthday or proposing to the car-guard.
Macaroon fact: In 1852 a French baker baked the biggest macaroon ever. It was as big as the giant’s swimming pool in Jack and the Beanstalk stretching to the tip of the Eifel Tower. However, the baker got so into his baking, that he got trapped in between the layer of filling and the top half of the macaroon. It took handymen two days to saw through the macaroon and get the sugar high baker out.
