Not only is the festive season about unwrapping presents, eating delicious food and trying to figure out which Santa is your dad, but the period also warrants merrymaking in a number of forms. While Christmas carols are all good and well for getting your fireplace in the festive mood, there’s really nothing better to get you going than slapping on a Christmas party hat and exercising your vocal cords at the Jingle Bells Rock Concert.
Featuring the likes of Afrikaans superstars like Kurt Darren, Andrëtte Norman and Limited Edition Drum Corps, the show promises to be one fit for the books. Kick back and relax under the stars while the vocal geniuses serenade your ears and the beats get you up and grooving like a rhythm-thrashing reindeer. While the concert has a distinct festive flavour, artists will still be performing some of their own compositions with all concert proceeds being donated to charity. Refreshments will be available for sale at the venue to keep vocal cords well-equipped to sing along and provide bodies with enough energy to boogie right through to the end.
Theatre Fact: In the 1970’s, an ice-cream parlour decide to produce the first recorded carrot-flavoured ice-cream. This was such an interesting notion to most that one playwright named Allan Edgar Poe wrote a five act play about it.
