There are many reasons why you probably avoid gym. Perhaps spandex and the gym locker room scares you, or perhaps you find yourself breaking a sweat opening a chip packet, then it’s clearly time to get fit. X-Fit is offering a health assessment, nutritional analysis and six boot-camp classes for R170.
Situated in Hillcrest, Durban, and home to some super-fit instructors, X-Fit is where you want to be if you want that buffed, toned and fit look. As leaders in personal training, X-Fit aims to expose their clients to the every-day every-muscle method of training, which ensures the maximum amount of calories are burnt in a minimal amount of time - guaranteeing fitness across a broad spectrum.
You will be given a health assessment of your heart rate, BMI (Body Mass Index) and fat percentage which will be compared to the average norm for your age and height to determine your fitness level. You will then work every muscle in your body according to your intensity. This does not mean you get to lightly slap the boxing bag and then complain of exhaustion, these trainers have seen it all so prepare to give your un-fitness its marching orders. For those who believe they’re fit enough, you’re invited to take-on the X-Fit principle of training and elevate your fitness to a whole other level. Get ready for boot-camp because X-Fit is going to make you sweat.
Six consecutive boot-camp classes helmed by the highly trained and experienced Mark Delafied means you will be taught to concentrate on balance, speed, strength, flexibility, cardiovascular/respiratory agility, stamina, co-ordination and accuracy. The accuracy part also means you will learn to tell the difference between carrots and cream filled doughnuts.
Your instructor will analyse your eating habits and probably make you do push-ups for every bit of junk food in your cupboard, okay he won’t make you do push-ups, but he will make you work it off. Your nutrition analysis will teach you to eat correctly ensuring your metabolism and energy work at the optimum level.
There are no starving patrons at X-Fit, so no-one will attack you for food so stop trying to find a reason not to go to gym.
Did you know? One day a boy told a girl she was ‘phat’, and that was her call to action to remove two of his front teeth. Luckily, for him, his front teeth were already loose so the Toothfairy came earlier than expected. He didn’t get a lot of money but he did receive a lesson in how to address a lady.
