Cocktails normally cause one to giggle at unusual things like pencils and napkins. So when you add comedians to the mix of alcohol and umbrellas, things are bound to get messy . Experience this fusion of delicately combined flavours and a handful of comedians at LiquidChefs with today’s Groupon: Pay R78 for a ticket to their comedy night and a premium cocktail, bar snacks and shooter of the day.
From the moment you walk into LiquidChefs on Tuesday 3 May you’ll get the feeling of good humour and an atmosphere of joviality. Before you even have a chance to sit down, you’ll be welcomed with a shooter, just to warm you up for the side-splitting humour ahead and give you a taste of the delicious cocktails to come. These delectable cocktails include: SKY 90 Martinis, JW Black Old Fashioners, classic champagne cocktails and Quervo Black Margaritas.
At the table you’ll be presented with bar snacks that to help prepare the system for the night of cocktails. With the line-up of comedians you can be sure that if a pretzel doesn’t shoot out your nose while laughing, a squirt of your cocktail might. The acts vary between the humorous magic acts by the Magic Man, the improvisational charm of Malcolm Ferreira and the South African skepticism of Martin Jonas:
Magic Man
Professional, fantastic charm, humorous wit and a compelling display of mystical illusion. Every so often, an entertainer comes along that is head and shoulders above what we are used to seeing. World-class performer Magic Man is one of the most experienced and well-traveled magicians in the country and is well known for his versatility in the illusion field. For the past 20 years he’s been touring North America, Canada and Asia building up an impressive list of achievements.
Malcolm Ferreira
Malcolm Ferreira, also known as Jan from Vodacom Player 23 has been a professional comedian since 2001. This international comedian has the unique ability to read just about any audience and adapt to any environment and situation.
Martin Jonas
Martin's novel style and insane observations about life in South Africa has comedy fans screaming for more. Delivered in English, Afrikaans, Tswana, Sotho and a smattering of Zulu, he appeals to audiences across the board.
Cocktail fact: The first time a cocktail shaker was used was in 1936 by Willy Hamper who had a serious case of hiccups. He heard that putting two cups together and jumping up and down would rid him of his hiccups. Always after a challenge he tried to shake water between the cups without messing anything. This became a party trick and soon involved alcohol.
