The Butcher Block is Joburg’s latest culinary destination having opened inside Rosebank’s Crowne Plaza Hotel. Every steak served at the Butcher Block undergoes a specialised ageing process to mature the tastiest and most tender cuts. The meat is supplied by Karan Beef, one of South Africa’s top meat suppliers, and only AAA Grade cuts are served.
The menu ensures that every taste is catered for, offering chicken, fish and vegetarian options alongside the star attraction – exceptional quality steaks.
So what menu items should the visiting gastronome look out for? "We are first and foremost a steakhouse and would always recommend one of our choice cuts," says Savic. "Our chef would recommend a favourite among our regulars, the camembert and bacon rump, or the Entrecote maître d’. The homemade Amarula chocolate cheesecake is exceptional, and our coffee is the finest blend. In addition, the extensive wine cellar also caters to every palate"
