Argentina is a world famous for making some of the most delicious, soft and elegant wines and this pair from the stellar winery of Salentein near Mendoza is no exception. The dynamic and passionate winemaker is Laureano Gomez, who has led this winery to be named the Best Argentinean Winery at the London International Wine and Spirit Competition. The Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from Burgundy are notoriously expensive, yet in the foothills of the Andes they are making wines from these two grapes that far exceed the quality – at a fraction of the price of their French counterparts. Gustav Bauza is the genius behind these two beautifully crafted wines, which are made from hard harvested vineyards over 4500ft above sea level. Unlike most vineyards, these haven’t been irrigated.  Rather, the vines seek their nutrition from subterraneanal streams of melted glacial water that run off the snow-capped Andes. 


 

After developing a 25 hectare joint venture vineyard at Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills wine region, together the Pike & Joyce brand have created these two incredible blended wines that are soft and fruit driven, but hugely complex and rewarding. The White Mullet is a blend of all the aromatic white grape varieties and has a crisp, fruity yet dry finish. The Red Mullet is blended from the wonderfully spicy grapes of Shiraz, Tempranillo and Grenache. 



 

The winemaker at the world famous and highly rated Provence winery in the South of France, Ciaràn Rooney has worked at some of the greatest wineries in the world, including Chateau Lafite in Bordeaux and Thelema in Stellenbosch.
