Steeped in a rich mix of North African, Arab and a hint of Western culture, Marrakech is a melting pot of colour and culture. Bustling, cobble-stoned streets of the old-city area of Medina, a mere shuttle ride from the hotel offers tourists a true taste of Morocco with meandering streets leading to vibrant markets or souks which host the musicians, dancers, and story tellers who pack the Medina square. Other sights of Marrakech which are a must-see include the Saadian Tombs, Majorelle Gardens, Dar Si Saïd Museum and the El Bahia and El Badi Palaces.
On our arrival the hotel's grand entrance promised much and we were pleased to find that although the rooms were fairly simply adorned, the grand theme was continued in a somewhat stylishly understated finish. From our balcony we had an expansive view of most of the complex including views beyond the bounding walls to the very distant horizon. Our first meal was a memorably tasty introduction to Morroccan/French cuisine. Believe me it was food heaven!
