Get away from the concrete jungle and escape to the luxurious and scenic wilderness of the Kruger National Park with a three-night stay, including accommodation, dinner and brunch at Pafuri Camp.
Nestled on the largest private concession in the Kruger National Park, Pafuri is the best place to enjoy a taste of the luxurious Kruger life. Divided into Pafuri West and Pafuri East, the camp comprises 20 tents, and is scenically settled across 24 000 hectares by 59 000 acres, providing guests with stunning surrounds and breath-taking views. Meru-style tents, all en-suite with both indoor and outdoor showers and comfortably plush décor offer the perfect spot to rest your head at the end of a long day, eclectically decorated with colourful fabrics and stonework to reflect the culture of Makuleke people. Raised on platforms to catch the breeze and connected via elevated walkways so that wildlife can move undisturbed to and from the river, Pafuri is ideal for spotting some of the roaming wildlife that the Kruger is so famous for. With a main deck, swimming pool, and dining and lounge areas open to the river view, as well as a lower-level terrace that’s perfect for watching the sunrise, there’s a place for everyone to kick back and enjoy the tranquillity.
Tranquilly nestled on a gentle bend along the northern bank of the Luvuvhu River, under the shade of enormous ebony and nyala berry trees, Pafuri offers some of the most scenic surroundings you’ll find outside of a painting. In the northernmost sector of the Kruger National Park, known for its incredible scenery and biodiversity, there’s no shortage of sights to please your eyes. Activities include game drives, walks and birding trips as well as visits to the traditional Makuleke Village to learn more about the people whose partnership with Pafuri Camp and eco-tourism has allowed this beautiful wilderness area to thrive.
Thanks to Ally, Mandla, Ernest, Antoinette, and all the staff who made our stay such a memorable one. We enjoy birding and Ally was a great guide who called birds for us and quickly spotted them in the field. We also had two different sightings on our game drives of a Python and also crocs consuming something they had recently killed. Accommodation was also great. Wished we could have stayed longer than two nights! We loved having both an inside and an outside shower. We found the beds very comfortable! The food was very good as well. Also enjoyed viewing the river from the deck of our tent. We were able to see many animals from here – John G Eugene; guest
