Day one, New Delhi: Arrive in vibrant New Delhi before being transferred to your hotel for the night. Explore the local sights with a free afternoon and evening.
Day two, Old Delhi and New: Wake up and join the rest of the group for the official welcome meeting before enjoying a full day of guided sightseeing in Delhi. In the evening, enjoy a Namaste Dinner at an Indian Restaurant and retire to your hotel for the night.
Day three, Jaipur – The Pink City: Wake up and drive to Jaipur – a city affectionately coined “The Pink City”, as Maharaja Ram Singh had the whole of the Old City painted pink in 1876 to herald a visit by the Prince of Whales. Also visit the bustling capital city of Rajasthan; enjoy a tour of the City Palace and Jantar Mantar – an old yet cleverly designed space observatory – before retiring for the night in a Jaipur hotel.
Day four, Amber Fort and elephants: Early in the morning there is an opportunity to sail over Jaipur in a hot air balloon on On the Go’s Balloon Over Jaipur bolt-on. Next, travel to the stunning 16th century Amber Fort and ascend the road leading to the palace aboard Indian elephants. After arriving at the top, tour the fort’s well-preserved interior and grounds before heading back to Jaipur for a free evening and a comfy sleep in a Jaipur hotel.
Day five, Jaipur to Bharatpur via Abhaneri and Peharsar: Explore Chand Baori – a famous 9th century stepwell in the village of Abhaneri – before travelling to the small rural village of Perharsar. Here you’ll walk the backstreets while discovering local life, traditions and perhaps a visit to the village school. Visit a charming haveli and check in at Bharatpur for a quick break before enjoying a leisurely rickshaw ride through the Keoladeo Ghana National park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a well-deserved sleep in a cosy hotel in Bharatpur.
Day six, Bharatpur to Agra (Taj Mahal): En-route to Agra, enjoy a visit to Fatehpur Sikri; the former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Arrive in Agra and visit the impressive Agra Fort before touring the legendary Taj Mahal and witness a glorious golden sunset. Spend the night in Agra.
Day seven, Agra to Delhi: After breakfast in Agra, return to Delhi where you’ll enjoy a free afternoon to relax or explore the local sights independently. Spend the night in New Delhi.
Day eight, New Delhi: Your unforgettable Indian tour ends after a delicious breakfast with the group. Say goodbye to India as you are transferred to the airport for your flight home.
