Martial artists choose from five dojos to complete their training, with class times and schedules varying from dojo to dojo. Promoting Kendo, Iaido and Jodo training through development and promotional programs, The South African Kendo Federation was formed in 1990. Dedicated to making Kendo more known in South Africa, the Federation also has an active development program for previously disadvantaged communities.
